The top five Film & Television Android apps in Nigeria for the second quarter of 2022 experienced varying trends in weekly downloads and active users, as per insights from Sensor Tower.
Netflix saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from about 31.6K at the end of March and peaking at around 42.7K in early May. The app maintained weekly downloads above 36K for the remainder of the quarter. Active users showed some fluctuations, beginning at approximately 500K and ending the quarter at 520K, with notable peaks and troughs along the way.
MX Player had stable weekly downloads throughout the quarter, ranging from about 15.6K to 19.5K. The app's active users showed a general upward trend, starting at around 679K and peaking at 750K by mid-June, before slightly declining to 740K at the end of the quarter.
AVO TV - Live and on-demand TV displayed consistent weekly downloads, fluctuating between 12.7K and 19.6K. The number of active users increased gradually from approximately 122K at the end of March to around 149K by early June, before seeing a slight decline to 138K towards the end of the quarter.
MyGOtv experienced a peak in weekly downloads of about 16.5K in late April, followed by a decline to around 11.4K by mid-June. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 74K at the start of the quarter and ending at approximately 67K.
MyDStv Africa had a significant drop in weekly downloads from approximately 31.5K at the start of the quarter to around 8.9K by the end. Active users also declined from about 202K in late March to around 150K by the end of June.
